Police are appealing for information after a significant amount of copper cabling was stolen from an electricity sub-station.

The theft occurred at the sub-station at Kippen Station, Kippen, near Stirling, sometime between 2pm on Monday March 8 and 10.30am on Tuesday March 9 when 2000m of copper cabling was taken.

A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said: “To take this amount of cabling, which equates to 2km, would have required a number of people. They would also have probably used a van or trailer. We appeal for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in this area or who has information to contact us.”

Anyone with information can contact Central Scotland Police on 01786 456000 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
