Carron valley / plean
Three miles east of Bannockburn, Plean, which lies on the main A9 between Stirling and Falkirk, was once known for sandstone quarrying. Key facilities in the village include the Balfour Centre, East Plean School, a parish church and a local library. Plean Estate is open to the public and is known as Plean Country Park, which boasts many walking routes which prove popular with visitors. Plean has a popular of around 1700.

Community Constable
Constable Craig Chisholm is the Community Officer covering the village of Plean. He is also the liaison Officer for East Plean Primary School.
His area of responsibility includes Plean Country park. He is also the community officer for the Carron Valley

The PACT priorities for the month of March/April 2010 within the community of Plean are:
1. Road Traffic Issues (Speeding) - Main Street, Old Plean
2. Anti-social behaviour / Youth Disorder - Wallace Cres / Bruce St / Gallamuir Dr / Main St / East Plean Primary School
What have we being doing for you:
1.
YOU SAID : One of your main concerns was speeding motorists through the village in particular the area of Main Street, Old Plean.
WE DID : High visibility hand held radar patrols carried out by the community team and road policing officers. The Community Traffic Wardens have also been using an electronic speed board to deter people from speeding through the village.
RESULT : Motorists have been stopped and given warnings regarding there speed. Speeding will continue to remain a priority with regular hand held radar patrols by the community team and road policing officers. Community Traffic Wardens will also continue to use the electronic speed board in the area.

YOU SAID : There is anti-social behaviour and youth disorder in the village, in particular the areas of Wallace Crescent, the play park in Bruce Street, Gallamuir Drive and Main Street.
WE DID : High Visibility Patrols by the community team and beat officers, ASBIT patrols at weekends, a Licensing Operation targeting the licensed premises in the village and reassurance visits to shop premises in the village. The areas are also regularly patrolled by community wardens who provide feedback to the community team with any issues that arise.
RESULT : Alcohol has been confiscated from groups of youths and officers have been engaging with the youths which has resulted in fewer calls being received relating to youth disorder and anti social behaviour in the village.
This will remain a priority throughout January and February with continued high visibility patrols by the community team, beat officers and community wardens.
