Fallin

Fallin and the nearby village of Throsk have a combined population of 2100. Former mining communities, the area they are located in is known locally as the Eastern Villages. Throsk borders a former military depot at Bandeath, which has been used for industrial purposes. Polmaise Colliery once operated from Fallin and although large areas of vacant land exist in this largely rural setting, work is ongoing to improve the area. Nearby Wester Moss and the Alloa Inches are designated sites of special scientific interest.
