Hillpark / whins of milton

The village of Whins of Milton and the rural area to the west, both of which are near Bannockburn. Whins of Milton is a largely residential area on the approach into Stirling from the south while the Carron Valley is a rural area which includes a fishing reserve, reservoir and several mountain bike trails.

Constable Jane Daly is the community officer for Hillpark and Whins of Milton and can be contacted through Bannockburn Police office. Jane is also the liaison for Bannockburn High School.

PACT Priorities September / October 2010

  1. Alcohol Supply to U18s.
  2. ASB at Morrison Drive.
  3. ASB /Drinking in Public at The Burn, Falls and Balfour Street.

So what have we being doing for you?

1.You Said: Local youths are managing to source alcohol and are regularly intoxicated at weekends.

We Did: All local off sales premises visited regularly in relation to vigilance of selling alcohol to Over 18s, who in turn pass it on to those U18. High Visibility Foot and Mobile patrols at peak times near to shops, and engaging with local youths in the vicinity. Two persons char ged for reckless conduct, for giving alcohol to an 11 year old. Test Purchasing at a local shop, resulting in the member of staff being charged with an offence under Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.

Result: Fewer reports have been received of U18s being intoxicated in Hillpark.

2.You Said : There was youth disorder and antisocial behaviour in Morrison Drive, neighbouring streets and the community centre.

We Did : High Visibility Foot and Vehicle Patrols. Community Wardens have also been in the area at peak times. Youths found with alcohol had it confiscated and if under 16, parents informed. Positive engagement was had with local youths during patrols, and several parents spoken to about the previous behaviour of their children.

Result : Police are finding fewer youths in possession of alcohol. Fewer calls are being received about disorder in the area. Over Friday / Saturday 29/01/10 & 30/01/10 there were no calls received relating to disorder in Morrison Drive or its neighbouring streets.

3.You Said : There was youth disorder / antisocial behaviour / public consumption of alcohol in Balfour Street, and at The Bannock Burn.

We Did : High Visibility Foot and Vehicle Patrols. Community Wardens have also been in the area at peak times. Youths found with alcohol had it confiscated and if under 16 parents informed. Two people were charged for damaging a car in Balfour Street.

Result : No calls have been received by police for some time, about persons causing disorder / littering at the Burn, or further damage to vehicles in Balfour Street.
