Constable Matt Williams has recently taken over the role of community officer for the Broomridge/Braehead and Torbrex areas. He is working closely with the community to identify the issues of most concern and then take action to tackle them. The following are the current Police and Community Together (PACT) Priorities identified by the community:
The PACT (Police and Communities Together) Priorities for January/February 2012 are:
Issue: St. Ninians Toll - Drug Misuse and anti-social behaviour (youths gathering) - every day and into the evenings (particularly weekends).
Response: Stop/search known drug users where appropriate. Disrupt and disperse crowds gathering around retail premises, when engaged in criminal behaviour.
Issue: Mayfield Park - Youth Disorder - Weekends from 1800hrs onwards.
Response: Increase high visibility and plain clothes patrols at Mayfield Park, to include rear of Mayfield Community and Health Centres
Issue: Almond Court/Springfield Road. Youth disorder and associated anti-social behaviour.
Response: Increased in high visibility patrols. Proactive engagement with youths and firm enforcement of any offences detected.
