My Area - Community Policing in Central Scotland
Welcome to the My Area pages of our website. Community policing teams are at the heart of keeping your local area safe. Police officers involved in these teams work closely with the public, groups and other organisations to make sure the place you live is as safe as possible.
We use the Police And Communities Together (PACT) approach to addressing which issues concern you the most and what action needs to be taken. This is a simple problem-solving process which allows local people to have a say on which issues the police or other organisations need to address.
Each area's priorities are set in agreement with members of the public either at community council meetings or community surgeries or engagement meetings. Community police officers will then keep the public up to date with progress and results - directly, via their own web pages and often through local media. Those results are reviewed and if the problem has been successfully resolved, new priorities can be set.
